Crystal chemistry of europium fullerides

Résumé

Synthesis and structural characterization of EuxC60 (x near 3 and 6) are reported. The low metal concentration phase is a vacancy ordered f.c.c.-derived phase and may be presented as a regular M3C60 phase, in which defects arise through the removal of atoms from lattice sites. The second phase is b.c.c. and analogous to most of the already reported M6C60 phases.
