C60 Fullerite Intercalated with 4f Elements

Résumé

C60 doped with 4f elements yields FCC and BCC-derived structures. The phases show paramagnetic or diamagnetic behaviours, consistent most of the time with the classical picture of charge transfer between intercalant species and C60 molecules. From such a description, it appears that stable phases can be expected to form with almost all the elements of the lanthanides series.
