According to plate reconstructions, a single hotspotmay be responsible for the magmatic formation of (1) both the Demerara Plateau (between 180 and170 Ma) and the Guinea Plateau (circa 165 Ma) during the end of the Jurassic rifting of the CentralAtlantic; (2) both Sierra Leone and Ceara Rises (mainly from 76 to 68 Ma) during the upper Cretaceousoceanic spreading of the Equatorial Atlantic ocean; (3) the Bathymetrists seamount chain since theupper Cretaceous. The present-day location of the inferred Sierra Leone hotspot should be 100 km westof the Knipovich Seamount. %G English %2 https://hal.uca.fr/hal-02562032/document %2 https://hal.uca.fr/hal-02562032/file/Basile%20et%20al%20Nature%20Scientific%20Reports%202020.pdf %L hal-02562032 %U https://hal.uca.fr/hal-02562032 %~ UNIV-ST-ETIENNE %~ IRD %~ INSU %~ UNIV-BREST %~ UNIV-SAVOIE %~ UNIV-AG %~ UGA %~ PRES_CLERMONT %~ CNRS %~ UNIV-PERP %~ UNIV-UBS %~ IFREMER %~ OSUG %~ IUEM %~ GM %~ LMV %~ THESES_IUEM %~ ISTERRE %~ AGROPOLIS %~ ACL-SF %~ CEFREM %~ B3ESTE %~ UNIV-MONTPELLIER %~ LGO %~ OPGC %~ UDL %~ TEST-HALCNRS %~ UGA-EPE %~ GEO-OCEAN %~ UM-2015-2021 %~ TEST3-HALCNRS
