Polishing the Irish Asymmetric Engagement with the Common European Asylum System: A Look at Case C-616/19
Résumé
On 10 December 2020, the CJEU handed down a preliminary ruling concerning the inadmissibility of applications for international protection in Ireland, where subsidiary protection has already been granted by another Member State (Case C-616/19, Minister for Justice and Equality (Ireland)). After a brief overview of the rules on the Irish engagement with the CEAS, this comment analyses the key points of the judgment.
